Pre-operative Instructions
The following instructions will help you when preparing for your upcoming surgery. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any last minute questions. We can be reached at Fremont Office Phone Number 510-796-8333 during regular business hours.
For your convenience, please fill your pre/post operative prescription prior to your scheduled surgery.
It may be important to stop taking aspirin 7-10 days prior to your surgery. Please consult with the doctor prior to your appointment. If you are taking Coumadin or other blood thinner medications, remember to discontinue them as directed. If you are required to premedicate with an antibiotic, please take it as directed before your surgery. You may have a light meal prior to surgery. We keep the office cool, so dress warmly. You may bring a portable listening device with you if you like.
In order to evaluate your progress and healing, we will see you for post-operative checks during the first few weeks. In most cases, you will be scheduled back for periodontal maintenance cleaning and examination of tissue maturation about 3 months following the surgery.
Antibiotics
Please alert the office to any allergies or sensitivities that you might have to antibiotics. You will be prescribed an antibiotic if the doctor determines it to be necessary. Take as directed. For women taking birth control pills, be advised that antibiotics may interfere with their effectiveness.
